New Year, New Mom, New Mom Bod - Now What?

My first article (!) for DFW Child, I discuss healthy movement, things new moms can do, and ways to approach exercise as a new mother. An approach to finding the strong, healthy, healed body one hopes for after having a baby. These recommendations are also helpful for anyone with back issues, weak or reconditioned abdominals, or those with a history of abdominal surgery.

A Pilates Instructor’s Baby Steps for Achieving that New Mom Bod

Getting back in shape tends to be a popular resolution. This goes for the majority of people, not just moms. We feel that with a fresh year comes a fresh start, and that should include how you take care of yourself. But for some—new moms in particular—that can be a complicated and frustrating goal. Your body just went through something amazing, but it’s not really feeling like your body anymore.

With that in mind, we wanted to provide some helpful tips and encouragement for those new mamas out there wanting to tackle their new mom bod. Our new mommy blogger has provided exactly that—allow us to introduce Morgan Palmer Bolton, new mom, and third-generation Pilates instructor.
